Verraden in Nederlands

This is our story.

We are an American family who fled to the Netherlands to escape the violence from my father. We spend 3 years in refugee centers while we waited for a decision regarding amnesty. In 1997 we won our case! We are the first Americans citizens to be granted asylum in another country.

We were placed in a very strange town called Rijnsburg. From the very first day one of our neighbors said that we were not welcome because we had 2 foster brothers from Africa. They are war orphans and we met them when we were in the refugee centers. They became a part of our family and we love them. The new neighbor said that he did not want to live next to "niggers" and he also called my foster brothers "jungle monkeys"

At first this man would tease us and make rude comments but over the years his bullying grew out of control. He punched my mother in the face when she was working in our front garden. He forced his way into our home and physically assaulted our mother when we were standing right beside her. I tried to help protect my mother but then the neighbor punched me.

The police wouldn't believe us so we bought a video camera. We openly taped the actions of the crazy neighbor but the police refused to look at the tapes. I didn't know what else to do so I put the videos on You Tube.

I am desperate to find someone to help us.
